Sit back, relax and learn cryptography using CrypTool

CrypTool is a windows-based e-learning software with which can be used to apply and analyze cryptographic mechanisms used in Information Security.

It contains exhaustive online help with tutorials/scenarios, visualizations (e.g. AES, number theory, Enigma) and a comprehensive script with more detailed information about primes, hash functions, digital signatures and more.

There are also two other variations:

Cryptool 2.0 - an open-source project based on modern and state-of-the-art technologies like the .NET Framework 3.5.  It is also possible to add new functionalities through its pure-plug-in architecture.  (C# version)

JCryptool - is developed in Java and based on Eclipse RCP. JCrypTool is platform independent and works together with the FlexiProvider (a powerful toolkit for the Java Cryptography Architecture JCA) developed by the TU Darmstadt.

Cryptool has won several awards including:

Germany — Land of Ideas 2008
European Information Security Award 2004 (finalist)
IT Security Award NRW 2004

and others...

While I believe that this tool has been around for quite some time, I'd have to say that its content is still relevant to the current technologies.
