Welcome to maltainfosec.org

This is the first post on this newly registered website, so I will begin by briefly explaining the idea behind this maltainfosec.org

The aim of the group is to create a bigger awareness on the island for the need of information security in various areas of computing and to create a local community of individuals with unique experiences who are ready to share information with other persons in need of professional advice.

Sandro Gauci is the owner and Founder of EnableSecurity where he performs R&D and security consultancy for mid-sized companies. Sandro has over 8 years experience in the security industry and is focused on analysis of security challenges and providing solutions to such threats. His passion is vulnerability research and has previously worked together with various vendors such as Microsoft and Sun to fix security holes. Donald Tabone has over 13 years work experience in the field of ICT. He has worked for 7 years as a Systems Engineer with a local company and has been with CCBill EU from its inception as the Lead Security Analyst. He has set up the Security Department in Malta and his responsibilities include PCI audit and compliance and the general running of the department. His diverse background has enabled him to interact in several fields in ICT - more recently information security and digital forensics. As a part-time tutor with STC Training, he has been teaching Computer Forensics on behalf of NCC Education for the past 3 years. He holds an Hons degree in Computing and Information Systems and is currently reading a Masters Law degree in IT & Telecommunications from the University of Strathclyde. Donald is an active member of ISSA and ISACA as well as the owner of maltainfosec.org
